ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Assists the HSE department in coordination of activities to include evaluating/recommending policies, practices, and equipment.
Provides an effective and expeditious route for employee ideas about HSE, PSM, and loss control.
Conducts training programs based on the established Environmental, Health, Safety, Emergency Response, and Process Safety Management (PSM) curriculum.
Conducts periodic audits to evaluate gaps in HSE system functions.
Participates in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) with a working knowledge of Hazard and Operability Analysis (HAZOP) and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) methodologies.
Maintains environmental, health, and safety related data and communicates metrics to employees.
Supports Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) activities at the Sandersville Refinery.
Conducts required regulatory on-site inspections including, but not limited to, stormwater, spill prevention, process drains, and air quality.
Conducts contractor orientation and audits contractors to facilitate a safe work environment.
Designs and writes, under the direction of management, necessary HSE policies and practices.
Inspects and maintains HSE equipment.
Investigates incidents using approved root cause analysis (RCA) methodology and prepares investigation reports.
Reviews management of change (MOC) activities for HSE impacts.
Evaluates new construction plans to establish objectives to enhance the adequacy of loss control systems.
Participates in the Hunt Incident Command Structure for emergency response.
Maintains adequate inventories of rescue and first-aid supplies and equipment.
Maintains and upgrades the in-plant fire water and foam systems.
Inspects, tests, and maintains documentation on all devices containing radioactive sources, including x-ray generating devices.
Able to work independently within the boundaries of established company standards.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Industry related experience, including basic knowledge of applicable regulations, and degree in an environmental, health, safety, or technical field preferred and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with the following regulations will be considered: (a) Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) (b) National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) (c) National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), (d) Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and (e) American Conference of Government Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH).
Must be computer literate and accomplished in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Must be able to communicate in both oral and written correspondence.
Must have the ability to present information in a group setting.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must have a valid driver’s license.
This position requires the individual to be certified to use respiratory protection which includes fresh air work requiring a tight-fitting full-face mask and a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) weighing up to 35 lbs.
Conditions during use could be routine activities or emergency rescue, including in atmospheric concentrations that are immediately dangerous to life and health.
Use of such a device requires sufficient pulmonary and respiratory health and prohibits, at any time in the course of work, facial hair that comes between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interferes with the facepiece valve function or other obstructions preventing an adequate facial fit.
